A special presentation was made to a special member at the Nanango Lions Club’s “Den” in George Street on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Rob Ashby, 86, joined the Nanango Lions in 1975.<\/p>\n

Over the years he’s held a few roles, including president and secretary, but mostly he’s been treasurer.<\/p>\n

In fact, the club reckons he’s clocked up a total of 40 years in the role.<\/p>\n

On Monday night, he handed over the books to fellow member, MaryLou Brown, who was quite adamant she won’t be still doing it in 40 years.<\/p>\n

“I’d be 100!” she joked.<\/p>\n

District 201Q4 Zone 4 chair Julie Clifford was on hand for the presentation, and thanked Rob for all the work he had done for Lions over the years.<\/p>\n

And the presentation? A framed certificate and some collectable coins … a fitting present for a treasurer!<\/p>\n
