Two local councils announced their confirmed holidays for 2020 this week:<\/p>\n

  • South Burnett<\/strong> – August 10 (Ekka Show)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Cherbourg<\/strong> – May 26 (National Sorry Day), July 10 (NAIDOC Day), August 10 (Ekka Show), and October 16 (Cherbourg Day).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The holidays were approved under Section 4 of the Holidays Act 1983.<\/p>\n

      The South Burnett Regional Council has also announced its closure times for the Christmas-New Year period.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Council’s staff Christmas party will be held on Friday, December 20 and all Council libraries and customer service centres will close at lunchtime so staff can attend the function.<\/p>\n

      Murgon and Proston will close at 11:15am; Blackbutt at 11:30am; Nanango at 11:45am; Wondai at noon; and Kingaroy at 12:30pm.<\/p>\n

      Libraries and customer service centres will open as usual on Monday, December 23 but will close at noon on Tuesday, December 23 for the festive season break.<\/p>\n

      They will both re-open for normal business on Thursday, January 2.<\/p>\n

      On-call and emergency staff will be rostered to work during the Christmas-New Year closure period, and residents who experience problems should call the Council’s after hours contact number (07) 4189-9100 for assistance.<\/p>\n

      Life threatening situations should be reported directly to triple zero.<\/p>\n

      Visitor Information Centres in Blackbutt, Nanango, Kingaroy, Wondai and Murgon will be open throughout the holiday period except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.<\/p>\n

      Parks staff will work through the Christmas-New Year break except for public holidays; and operational and outdoor staff will operate on a skeleton staff arrangement from Friday, December 20 to Friday, January 3.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
