Kevin Britten won two of the three heats in the Dirt Modifieds and went on to win the main feature<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kingaroy Speedway opened its 2019-20 racing season in spectacular style on Saturday night with a full round of racing, and not a drop of rain in sight.<\/p>\n

The club’s first meeting was washed out last month which meant all eyes were on the “Spring Spectacular” event.<\/p>\n

The hot spring day (officially 34.6 degrees in Kingaroy) kept crowds down at the start of the evening’s racing, but as soon as the sun went down and the temperature cooled, the crowds on the terraces began to rise.<\/p>\n

In action on the track were Modified and Production sedans, Street Stocks, Juniors and the super-quick V8 Dirt Modifieds.<\/p>\n

Queensland driver Kevin Britten demonstrated again why he is the only driver to have won\u00a0four Australian V8 Dirt Modified titles back-to-back.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Britten was coming off a win at Archerfield, and had little trouble on the slick Kingaroy track, taking out two of the heats and the feature race.<\/p>\n

The win was also an opportunity for Britten to show off the new graphics on his car.<\/p>\n

Local driver\u00a0Nathan Barbeler took out Round 2 of the Edge Automotive and Performance Street Stocks Series which is being raced over five rounds during 2019-20 at the Kingaroy track (Round 1 was a victim of last month’s washout).<\/p>\n

The series offers $1200 in prize money for the overall winner.<\/p>\n

In the Production sedans final, Australian title holder Joel Berkley had the narrowest of wins – just 0.005 of a second – over Brody Fraser who put in the fastest lap during the race.<\/p>\n

In the Junior Sedans (Top Stars), Hayden Brims won the feature ahead of Mason Pammenter and youngster Brodie Hollyman.<\/p>\n

Crowd favourite Aidan Raymont took out the Modifieds feature, ahead of local driver Josh Harm.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Speedway Club confirmed on Thursday the giant video big screen will return to Kingaroy for the massive three-day Kings Royal Modifieds event on the Australia Day long weekend in January.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The screen will provide action replays, highlight clips, driver interest stories and multiple camera angles.<\/p>\n

A wireless roaming camera will also take fans up close for driver interviews on the infield throughout the three days of racing.<\/p>\n

The 2020 IBRP Modified Sedan Kings Royal will be held between January 24-26.<\/p>\n

The next night of speedway racing in Kingaroy will be held on December 14 with Street Stocks, Production Sedans, Lightning Sprints and the Queensland Super Sedan title.<\/strong><\/p>\n
