South Burnett community groups have been encouraged to apply for grants under Round 4 of the Federal Government’s “Building Better Regions Fund” (BBRF).<\/p>\n

The aim of the grants is to boost employment, build more resilient economies and grow stronger communities.<\/p>\n

Round 4 – worth a total $200 million – has been specifically targeted at drought-affected communities.<\/p>\n

The grants will be distributed in two streams: for infrastructure and for community-based projects.<\/p>\n

Up to $10 million per project will be available through the infrastructure stream and up to $1 million for community-based projects.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrevious projects have ranged from building community-based aged care facilities, training programs to support young people in starting their own business and improving freight access to airports,” Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBBRF invests in projects that are shovel-ready and pave the way for our communities to thrive and survive well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Applications opened on November 14 and will close on December 19.<\/p>\n
