October 31, 2019<\/b><\/p>\n

Local fire bans in the South Burnett, Cherbourg, Gympie and North Burnett council areas have been extended again.<\/p>\n

The bans, which had been due to expire on November 1, have been extended to 23:59pm on Friday, November 8.<\/p>\n

The bans have been extended due to the ongoing heightened fire conditions.<\/p>\n

Under a local fire ban, all open fires are prohibited and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been cancelled.<\/p>\n

Power tools may be used during a local fire ban however the QFES encourages people to use these with extreme care and ensure adequate equipment is available to extinguish any fire which may start.<\/p>\n

This may include having a person available to watch out for any ignitions that occur.<\/p>\n
