Police have charged 26 people after police raids this week targeting drug distribution in Kingaroy, Nanango, Yarraman and Blackbutt.<\/p>\n

The raids are part of an ongoing drug enforcement operation, Romeo Monument.<\/p>\n

Police from Murgon and Kingaroy CIB, the State Flying Squad and uniformed officers from Yarraman, Blackbutt and Nanango executed 25 search warrants between October 21-23.<\/p>\n

During the searches, police allegedly located illegal firearms, methamphetamine, small quantities of cannabis, drug implements, cash, stolen vehicles and motorbikes.<\/p>\n

A total 26 people have been charged with 54 drug, property and weapon-related offences, including drug production, drug possession, possession of drug implements, burglary, enter premises, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing property suspected of being stolen, unlawful possession of a Category A firearm and unlawful possession of explosives (fireworks).<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Mat Kelly said these operations were aimed at reducing the harm posed by dangerous drugs and illegal firearms in rural areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThese operations are a great win for police and the entire community. With valuable information from across the community, we will continue investigations across the South West District and throughout the Southern Policing Region,\u201d Det Insp Kelly said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy disrupting criminal behaviour in this way, we aim to deter future offending.\u201d<\/p>\n
