There’s a big weekend ahead for South Burnett cricketers, with a representative final being played on Sunday, \u00a0plus the last round of A Grade fixtures and the first round of the B Grade semi-finals on Saturday.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/p>\n

The South Burnett XI will play Bundaberg in the Goodchild Shield final at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Sunday. <\/strong><\/p>\n

This match had originally been scheduled to be played on February 9 but was postponed because of the floods.<\/p>\n

South Burnett, captained by Freddy Davies, will be eager to go one step better than they did in 2012 where they were lost the grand final against Gympie.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

In A Grade cricket on Saturday, Nanango Scorpions will take on top-of-the-table Kingaroy RSL at Nanango, while Warriors will face Murgon at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the B Grade competition, Warriors, who finished on top of the table, will face second placegetters Wondai in the first semi-final at Kingaroy State Schoo<\/strong>l.<\/p>\n

The winner of this game will go directly into the B Grade grand final while the loser will play the winner of the sudden-death semi-final between Kumbia (3rd) \u00a0and Murgon Diggers (4th) which will be played at Kumbia Sportsground on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Plate finals will be played between Murgon Magic (5th) and Kingaroy RSL (8th) at Murgon Sportsground, and between Barambah (6th) and Murgon Colts (7th) at Murgon State High School.<\/p>\n

In junior representative cricket, a South Burnett U13 side will be facing Fraser Coast in the Wide Bay Cricket zone junior finals which will be played at the Walker Road Recreation Reserve at Urangan on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The best junior players in Wide Bay will be contesting the 50-over finals in four age groups: \u00a0U12, U13, U14 and U16.<\/p>\n

For the first time in memory, Fraser Coast has made it into each of the age group finals. \u00a0In the U12, U14 and U16 matches they will be coming up against Bundaberg sides.<\/p>\n

The U13 South Burnett players will have to quickly get used to playing on a different style of pitch than what they are used to … their match has been assigned a rebound ace surface, one of the few in the zone area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
