Rain disrupted the first round of the South Burnett cricket competition played on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The game between Southern District Devils and Blackbutt at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy got a start but was washed out when a sharp rainstorm with small hail swept across the pitch.<\/p>\n

The Kumbia Rattlers v Cherbourg match at Kumbia was also a washout.<\/p>\n

At Wondai, Kallindale Warriors won the toss and elected to bat.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of their 40 overs, they were 8\/236 with Dane Bloomfield (59) and Jason Reilly (50) top-scoring.<\/p>\n

J. Hobbs (2\/25 off eight overs) was the best of the Wondai bowlers.<\/p>\n

In reply, the home team were all out for 113.<\/p>\n

Francis Hobbs (34) and Robert Christensen (33) were the Wolves’ top scorers.<\/p>\n

Jason Reilly took 4\/6 off six overs.<\/p>\n

Kallindale won by 123 runs.<\/p>\n

At Nanango Sportsgrounds, the home team proved too strong for Kingaroy Services in a close match shortened by rain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scorpions won the toss and elected to bat.<\/p>\n

The match was reduced to 26 overs, by which time Nanango were 7\/196.<\/p>\n

Jay Steinhardt (79 not out) and\u00a0Dan O’Connor (49) were the best with the bat.<\/p>\n

Sam Scott took 2\/45 off six overs for Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

In reply, Services were 8\/147 after 26 overs.<\/p>\n

Terry Forbes top-scored with 26.<\/p>\n

Tjaart Myburgh was the best of the Nanango bowlers, taking 2\/26 off three overs.<\/p>\n

In Round 4 of the Gympie A Grade competition, Murgon earned a bonus point after chasing down Gympie Valleys at Murgon Sportsground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon won the toss and elected to bowl.<\/p>\n

At the end of their 40 overs, Valleys were 9\/150.<\/p>\n

Top scorers for Gympie were Anthony Reid (57) and opener Wayde Wust (30).<\/span><\/p>\n

Murgon’s best bowlers were\u00a0Bryce Edwards (2\/22 off 8 overs),\u00a0Harry Sippel (2\/25 off 6) and\u00a0Ryan Sommerfeld (1\/17 off 8).<\/span><\/p>\n

Murgon chased down the target in 29 overs, gaining a bonus point, for the loss of just two wickets (2\/152).<\/span><\/p>\n

Opener Damien Sippel was undefeated, hitting 67 runs – including seven fours – off 77 balls.

Graham Brown (36) and\u00a0Dwayne Malone (25) also added to the total.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nathan McGill took the two wickets for Gympie, finishing with 2\/36 off five overs.<\/p>\n
