Forty business migrant investors and migration agents visited the South Burnett recently as part of a tour to explore investment and export opportunities in the Wide Bay-Burnett region.<\/p>\n

The week-long Trade and Investment Queensland roadshow took investors and agents from China, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan to Bundaberg, Gayndah, Kingaroy, Rainbow Beach, Tin Can Bay, Maryborough and Hervey Bay.<\/p>\n

Councillors from each region provided presentations in their areas and hosted official dinners with key business leaders.<\/p>\n

Delegate Elaine Lan Le, from Landmark Consulting Group Pty Ltd, an Australian investment consultancy with Vietnamese business migration clients, said the group was impressed by the level of engagement from the councils and the State Government.<\/p>\n

“The fact that the government, at a State and at a local level, is so welcoming and open with us, gives us great confidence to invest in the region,” she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fraser Coast Regional Council Deputy Mayor Darren Everard said the roadshow would help change the perception that investment opportunities were only available in the greater Brisbane and Gold Coast areas.<\/p>\n

“We want to show interstate and overseas migration agents there are opportunities in regional Queensland,” he said.<\/p>\n

Delegates also visited several South Burnett wineries.<\/p>\n

A TIQ spokesperson said one of the wineries was looking to access migrants\u2019 export networks while another was looking to partner in a joint venture to expand winery infrastructure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
