The community leadership program which has been run for the past six years in the South Burnett has undergone a re-branding exercise.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Community Leadership Program will now be known as the Red Earth Community Leadership Program (RECLP), reflecting the fact that applicants also come from the North Burnett.<\/p>\n

The new name also recognises the program’s parent organisation, the Red Earth Community Foundation.<\/p>\n

New logos for both the program and the not-for-profit foundation have also been unveiled.<\/p>\n

“Over the past six years we have had participants from all walks of life – industry, government, the community sector, cultural and sporting groups, and agriculture,” RECLP organiser Georgie Somerset said.<\/p>\n

“Some have been long term residents of our region, while others are new – the program is designed to develop the personal effectiveness of each individual, so your background and experience is only one component, and people don’t need to be in a traditional leadership role to benefit.”<\/p>\n

Co-facilitator of the program is Heather Ellis, from Blue Wren Connections.<\/p>\n

“Over 120 people have attended the program, with participants gaining so much from the experience, highlighting skills and confidence that have helped them to make big improvements in their lives, from family life, to career growth, business development and more,” she said.<\/p>\n

The next RECLP will be delivered in the Bunya Mountains in February and March 2020, in two residential sessions.<\/p>\n

An information night about the program will\u00a0be held at the South Burnett Enterprise Centre, 6 Cornish Street, Kingaroy, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday (October 17).<\/strong><\/p>\n

It will include talks by the program facilitators, Red Earth Board members and past participants.<\/p>\n

Light refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n
