Nanango Race Club president Andrew Green was pleased with attendance numbers at Saturday’s Spring meeting … despite so many\u00a0competing events being held on the same day.<\/p>\n

While some regulars may have decided to attend Blackbutt’s Avocado Festival, the nearby Nanango Music Muster or any of the other 24 events running in the South Burnett that day, it seemed punters from outside the area made up for any shortfall.<\/p>\n

The fashion theme was Spring Florals which meant colourful floral\u00a0dresses and stylish fascinators were the order of the day the many female patrons.<\/p>\n

St Mary’s Catholic College had a contingent at the track to support the running of the annual St Mary’s Catholic College Plate.<\/p>\n

There were plenty of opportunities for punters, with favourites taking out three of the day’s five races.<\/p>\n

Nanango Race Club’s next meet will be the annual Christmas Race Meeting.<\/p>\n

This will be held on Sunday, December 1 (rather than a Saturday) and if last year’s bumper attendance is any guide, it will be another big day at Lee Park.<\/p>\n

In between, racegoers can attend Wondai’s popular Caulfield Cup meeting on Saturday, October 19, and Kumbia Race Club’s Melbourne Cup meeting on Tuesday, November 5.<\/p>\n
