Nanango SES has received a $3058 grant from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) to buy first aid mannequins.<\/p>\n

FRRR says the grant will improve emergency response first aid capability and strengthen community health and safety outcomes.<\/p>\n

The Nanango grant was one of 50 projects across Australia to receive help from FRRR’s “Strengthening Rural Communities \u2013 Small & Vital” grants program.<\/p>\n

The Small & Vital grants, announced on Monday, provide up to $10,000 to help local leaders respond to a broad range of needs across rural, regional and remote communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cInfrastructure and equipment can be a powerful change mechanism for community groups, and this was the focus of the majority of applications in this round,” FRRR CEO Natalie Egleton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of small towns doing it tough around the country at the moment and if they can secure funding to make it that little bit easier or more comfortable for their volunteers, then community members are more likely to offer their services.<\/p>\n
