Nominations are now open for the South Burnett Regional Council’s annual Australia Day Awards.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese awards provide the community with an opportunity to acknowledge and reward outstanding groups and individuals committed to improving the lifestyle experience in our region,\u201d\u00a0Mayor Keith Campbell said.<\/p>\n

“The award categories that have been chosen give our individual communities equal opportunity to nominate those who have made special contributions.”<\/p>\n

2020 award categories are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 South Burnett Citizen of the Year
\n\u2022 South Burnett Young Citizen of the Year
\n\u2022 South Burnett Community Organisation of the Year
\n\u2022 South Burnett Lifetime Achievement Award
\n\u2022 South Burnett Volunteer of the Year
\n\u2022 South Burnett Junior Cultural Award
\n\u2022 South Burnett Senior Cultural Award
\n\u2022 Local Achiever Award (Town & Rural)
\n\u2022 South Burnett Junior Sportsperson
\n\u2022 South Burnett Senior Sportsperson
\n\u2022 South Burnett Sports Administrator\/Coach\/Official Award<\/p>\n

If someone has won an Australia Day Award in the past three years, they are not eligible for nomination for that same category.<\/p>\n

The official awards ceremony will be held on the eve of Australia Day (January 25) at Kingaroy Town Hall.<\/p>\n
