UPDATE 5:25pm:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A serious bushfire burning in the Linville area has been contained.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesperson said\u00a0crews would continue to strengthen containment lines.<\/p>\n

The bushfire is burning to the west of George Street.<\/p>\n

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.<\/p>\n

The official Alert level is now ADVICE.<\/p>\n

At 3:10pm:<\/strong><\/p>\n

QFES has warned Linville residents that a fire is heading towards Linville and they should leave now.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The official Alert level is WATCH AND ACT:<\/p>\n

Follow your bushfire survival plan now.<\/p>\n

If you do not have a plan, your safest option is to LEAVE NOW if it is clear to do so. If you are not in the area, do not return, as conditions are too dangerous.<\/p>\n

At 3:10pm, a large fire is travelling in an east, north-easterly direction towards George Street, Linville.<\/p>\n

It is expected to impact George Street, John Street, David Street, Anne Street, William Street and Alice Street, Linville, within the next two hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fire could have a significant impact on the community.<\/p>\n

Fire crews are working to contain the fire but firefighters may not be able to protect every property.<\/p>\n

You should not expect a firefighter at your door. Power, water, and mobile phone service may be lost.<\/p>\n

Waterbombing operations are currently underway to contain this fire.<\/p>\n

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.<\/p>\n

Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you are under threat.<\/p>\n
