The “Dinner With The Captains” charity dinner at Kingaroy Town Hall in July has raised an impressive $42,155 for Relay For Life.<\/p>\n

Organising committee spokesman Carl Rackemann told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> that although it wasn’t the largest amount that had been raised at the annual dinner, it was up on last year and was still “very, very good”.<\/p>\n

The money was raised by ticket sales, raffles and a sports-themed auction.<\/p>\n

Carl said he would like to make a big thank you to the event’s major sponsor, the Telstra shop in Kingaroy, which had made the evening happen.<\/p>\n

This year’s Relay For Life – a major fundraiser for Cancer Council Queensland – is being held on October 12-13 at Kingaroy Showgrounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlybird tickets are still available: $30 for adults and $15 for youths.<\/p>\n

Cancer Council Queensland CEO Chris McMillian encouraged South Burnett residents to get involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone is invited to join us at Kingaroy Relay For Life and help us create a cancer-free future,\u201d Ms McMillan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOrganised by passionate, local volunteers, Relay For Life is an event that will stay with you forever.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy pledging to take part and fundraising for the cause, you\u2019re giving much-needed hope to locals affected by cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n
