UPDATE 4:30pm:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Windera fire is now burning within containment lines and will continue to be monitored.<\/p>\n

There is no threat to property at this time, however nearby residents may be affected by smoke.<\/p>\n

UPDATE 2:45pm:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fire crews attending the Windera fire are reinforcing containment lines but the Advice warning (see below) is still in force.<\/p>\n

The call to bring in an aircraft to assist with fire control was cancelled.<\/p>\n

EARLIER:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Water bombers have been called in to assist with a bushfire burning near Morgans Road at Windera.<\/strong><\/p>\n

QFES issued a “Stay Informed: Advice” alert (see below) to local residents at 12:45pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Firefighters are working to contain the fire with help from aerial support.<\/p>\n

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.<\/p>\n

Properties are not under direct threat at this time.<\/p>\n

Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.<\/p>\n
