Kilkivan Fire Station … a $1.8 million upgrade of this facility has been announced three times in the past three years by the State Government, tenders have now be sought<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

August 29, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

The State Government has opened tenders to build new fire stations at Yarraman and Kilkivan.<\/p>\n

The Yarraman project, at 7 Toomey Street, has been bundled together in the tender process with the construction of a new fire station at Esk.<\/p>\n

The tenders opened on August 22 and will close on September 12.<\/p>\n

Money was allocated for the projects in the 2019-20 State Budget.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The promised new complex at Kilkivan has been a long time coming: $900,000 was set aside in the 2017-18 State Budget; followed by $900,000 in 2018-19 and $1.6 million in 2019-20.<\/p>\n

Budget papers put the total cost of the facility at $1.8 million.<\/p>\n

The fire station at Yarraman had $800,000 allocated in the 2018-19 Budget followed by $1.4 million in 2019-20 out of a projected total cost of $1.5 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
