The Bunya Mountains Community Association Inc (BMCAI) hosted a picnic lunch at the new Fishers Lookout deck for Member for Callide Colin Boyce last Friday.<\/p>\n

BMCAI president John Learmont said it was an opportunity for residents to meet Mr Boyce, whose electorate extends into the western part of the Bunya Mountains area, as well as raise local issues including the need for repairs to the road to Dalby.<\/p>\n

Mr Boyce was given a familiarisation tour of the Bunya Mountains and then residents accompanied him down the Dalby road to Bell.<\/p>\n

A Western Downs Council spokesperson told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the new Fishers Lookout was expected to be officially opened in mid-October.<\/p>\n

The 350sq m viewing platform includes two shade shelters, tables and seating, and\u00a0complements recent upgrades to nearby walking tracks.<\/p>\n

The new lookout was developed in conjunction with the Bunya Mountains Murri Rangers with funding from the State Government’s Works for Queensland program.<\/p>\n
