Drought Minister and Member for Maranoa David Littleproud<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A Community Outreach event has been planned for Kingaroy to allow drought-affected farmers in the South Burnett to find out what assistance is available to them.<\/p>\n

Drought Minister David Littleproud said farmers would be able to talk to representatives from Federal and State agencies as well as local service providers.<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy get-together – part of a series of meetings planned in southern Queensland – will be held on Tuesday, September 24, but further details are yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

\u201cDrought assistance isn\u2019t one size fits all, this will show people the options they have,\u201d Mr Littleproud said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will provide tailored advice to help communities through the drought and to build resilience for the next one.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis could include financial assistance, water infrastructure rebates, business coaching, succession planning and mental health support services.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve also expanded some eligibility criteria making it easier to access assistance and mental health services.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outreach events are being co-ordinated by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development.<\/p>\n
