SunWater has joined the independent waterexchange<\/a> <\/strong>online trading platform, making it easier for farmers in the Wide Bay-Burnett area to trade water allocations.<\/p>\n

Waterexchange provides customers with immediate access to real-time information about available allocations, transaction history and costs.<\/p>\n

SunWater is the first water provider in Queensland to use the tool.<\/p>\n

CEO Nicole Hollows encouraged water customers to consider undertaking their trading activities on the platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith drought conditions still affecting much of the State, it is important water users have visibility of unsold water allocations, particularly seasonal trades,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIncreasing market transparency will lead to better utilisation of water throughout the State and we hope that moving our activities to the online platform will assist in achieving this goal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Customers can set up their own portals on the platform, making it easy to buy or sell orders, bid on water auctions and keep track of trades.<\/p>\n

Trading activities are confidential, however, data relating to pricing and volumes is publicly available.<\/p>\n
