Crows Nest police have warned there has been an increase in property offences recently in the Googa Creek\/Mount Binga area.<\/p>\n

“It would appear that transient offenders are attending the area and targeting properties that are only occupied on weekends, meaning offenders have unrestricted access during weekdays,” Sgt Greg Dawes said.<\/p>\n

“We have seen property boxed up and left at the locations. The intention of the offenders was to return to the addresses and collect this property at another time.<\/p>\n

“If you have a property in remote or rural areas, please ensure that you secure any items of value as best you can or consider removing the items from the address when you\u2019re not there.<\/p>\n

“It is also a good idea to consider outdoor cameras. While these will not necessarily stop any offences being committed, they will provide police with a great investigative tool to chase up those responsible.”<\/p>\n

A 25-year-old Wooroolin woman will appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on September 2 to face charges of possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils after police were called to an address in Woolshed Road at Mt Binga after reports of a break-and-enter in progress.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, police located a white Holden ute and a number of people not associated with the address.<\/p>\n

While there were no property offences officially reported, a subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly located a quantity of crystal methylamphetamine, cannabis, and drug utensils.<\/p>\n

Between August 4-10, metal sheets were removed to break into a shed in Stewart Road, Googa Creek. At this time it is unknown if any property was stolen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
