A woman has died and four people – including three children – have been injured in a fiery crash on the Chinchilla-Wondai Road near Durong on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to scene, west of the McPhee Road intersection, just after 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, they found a bystander performing CPR on a woman who had been a passenger in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Tragically, the 26-year-old Loganlea woman died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Fire crews quickly extinguished a fire sparked by the crash which spread along the roadside.<\/p>\n

Two RACQ LifeFlight helicopters landed in a paddock beside the crash site.<\/p>\n

Two male toddlers – aged 2 and 1\u00a0 – suffering head injuries were transported by road ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

A four-year-old boy with serious head injuries was flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition by the Brisbane-based LifeFlight helicopter.<\/p>\n

A Loganlea man, aged 25, was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition with burns by the Bundaberg LifeFlight chopper.<\/p>\n

Witnesses at the scene suggested the incident may have occurred after the driver braked hard in a bid to avoid hitting a wallaby.<\/p>\n

The vehicle then skidded into a small culvert on the side of the road and rolled.<\/p>\n

However, a police spokesman said forensic investigations into the cause of the crash were still under way and would not be confirmed for some time.<\/p>\n
