A truck driver escaped injury when his rig flipped on its side and hit a tree on the Burnett Highway north of Nanango on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

The vehicle, which was carrying molasses, spilled part of its load on the roadway near Rickett Road at Johnstown (near Wyalla).<\/p>\n

A QAS spokesperson said a man in his 50s was assessed at the scene but was not hurt.<\/p>\n

He declined transport to hospital.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred about 8:00pm.<\/p>\n

Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane as the truck was righted and the roadway cleared.<\/p>\n

The incident created a response on social media, with some commenters lamenting that cattle could have been called in to help clean up the mess:<\/em><\/p>\n
