The Saints played a hard, fast game against the Bombers and were rewarded with victory<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

South Burnett Saints notched up their second win for the season in the Darling Downs AFL competition at the weekend, downing South Toowoomba Bombers before a home crowd in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

It was the club’s first “Ladies Day” so there was a LOT of pink being worn by spectators.<\/p>\n

The Bombers began strongly and were ahead by four goals at the first change.<\/p>\n

But the home team had a massive second quarter, kicking seven goals to the visitors’ one to take the lead 8.3-51 to 6.6-42.<\/p>\n

The Saints then led for the rest of game, finishing ahead 13.9-87 to 9.15-69.<\/p>\n

Queensland rep player Shaun Pukallus led the charge, kicking four goals.<\/p>\n

Other South Burnett goals were kicked by Benjamin Smith (3), Jarryd Hill (2), Jack Hourn, Kyle Snow, Jordan Brooker and Joshua Soley.<\/p>\n

The Saints’ next game will be against the Warwick Redbacks, at Warwick, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

It may have been Ladies Day, but unfortunately that didn’t translate into on-field success for the Saints Women’s team.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Toowoomba Bombers proved too strong, 5.7-37 to 0.6-6, in a low-scoring game.<\/p>\n
