Goomeri company James Giles Plumbing has won the Elgas Commercial Type B Gas Installation Of The Year Award at the 2019 Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards.<\/p>\n

The win marks a record-equalling fifth consecutive year that James Giles Plumbing have taken out a top gas installation award.<\/p>\n

The awards were announced on Friday at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.<\/p>\n

This year the company was engaged by Swickers Kingaroy, the largest pig processing facility in the southern hemisphere, to install and commission a new 25GJ\/h Type B gas scorcher.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of this, they had to upgrade the existing pipe work and pressure reduction station at the bulk LPG tank.<\/p>\n

They also had to assist in the design of the new scorcher, complete the Type B Technical submission and assist with the development of the hazard and operability study (HAZOP) for the new gas system.<\/p>\n

“Although this project wasn’t our biggest project this year, it provided a unique set of challenges for gas compliance and safety, and could only be completed in stages as the new slaughter floor was constructed,” Justin Giles said.<\/p>\n

The judges said the company’s high standard of work using innovative material and best practice for the industry made them worthy winners of the award.<\/p>\n

The awards are hosted by Master Plumbers\u2019 Association of Queensland in partnership with Tradelink.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They aim to highlight the hard work and dedication invested into the industry by apprentices, plumbers, gasfitters, hydraulic consultants and other industry workers.<\/p>\n

This year the sell-out awards ceremony recognised individuals and companies in 18 categories.<\/p>\n

VIPs attending the awards included Public Works Minister Mick de Brenni, Shadow Minister Michael Hart, Plumbers Union State secretary Gary O\u2019Halloran, and QBBC commissioner Brett Bassett.<\/p>\n
