Michael Hancock … dinner guest<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Greg Inglis has had to withdraw from the upcoming charity Dinner With The Captains, but league fans should be more than happy with his replacement.<\/p>\n

Dinner organising committee president Carl Rackemann announced on Friday that Michael Hancock would now be the third sports star at the dinner.<\/p>\n

“Greg is dealing with some significant issues as I think everyone is aware,” Carl said.<\/p>\n

“We wish him well and hope he can come to a dinner in Kingaroy another time.<\/p>\n

“It is tremendous that Michael is able to step in at short notice joining Jessica Watson and Greg Ritchie and help us in the fight against cancer.”<\/p>\n

Michael Hancock had had a remarkable rugby league career – playing for Australia, Queensland and the Broncos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has notched up 13 Tests, 14 State of Origin games and played in five Broncos premiership-winning sides.<\/p>\n

When selected for his first State Of Origin game in 1989, he was the youngest player to play Origin from either side. Later that year, while still a teenager, he debuted for Australia.<\/p>\n

Hancock was also recently named in the Toowoomba Rugby League’s “Team of the Century” as part of the celebrations to mark 100 years of the Darling Downs competition.<\/p>\n

Carl said there would be some great auction and raffle prizes on offer at the dinner including:<\/strong><\/p>\n
