But his rider Hannah Phillips knows the circuit well.<\/p>\n<p>Viceman\u2019s dam is the imported Vicereine, a British mare endowed with the genes of Mr Prospector, The Minstrel, Northern Dancer and Sir Ivor.<\/p>\n<p>Her sire Zamindar\u2019s best daughter was Zarkava, winner of the Prix de l\u2019Arc de Triomphe, French Oaks, French One Thousand Guineas and two other European Group One events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clouds, of course, is the well-known and throughly respected local. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The grey, with a 6:3-2-0 form line around Wondai, is ultra-reliable on his home patch.<\/p>\n<p>Lindsay Anderson\u2019s charge was beaten a nose there at his last appearance on Anzac Day when asked to hump 64.5 kilograms in BM 55 grade over 1465 metres.<\/p>\n<p>But this weekend \u2019s race is an open handicap and Cloud\u2019s impost is a more comfortable 58.5 kilograms.<\/p>\n<p>Rest assured, bookmakers will take no risks when they put up the odds for the Bradbury\u2019s Luck gelding.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Powell will pilot the steed that goes well fresh.<\/p>\n<p>The Bundaberg visitor Al\u2019s Brief is exceptional on the sand, with 11 wins at Bundaberg, Gladstone and Gympie.<\/p>\n<p>At the Brief Truce gelding\u2019s only Wondai outing, he beat all bar Canid and Liverpool Jane.<\/p>\n<p>More Worldly, the bottom weight by More Than Ready, will be lining up for his seventh consecutive sand track task.<\/p>\n<p>His last six runs have yielded four wins and a minor placing.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, I Am McLovin returns to his favourite course in the Wondai Electrical BM 50 (1100m).<\/p>\n<p>The bay by Murtajill has an impressive 7: 4-1-0 record at the venue, and perhaps the familiar environment will rekindle the seven-year-old\u2019s spirit.<\/p>\n<p>His only run between his Gympie failure in November 2017 and his distant ninth at the same track a fortnight ago was an unplaced effort in 0-50 Rating class at Chinchilla in March 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately the sprinter that is raced and trained by Laurie Curtain drew gate 11 and is first emergency.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * * <\/strong><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_74090\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74090\" style=\"width: 740px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140711-lewis-duff.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-74090\" title=\"20140711 Lewis Duff\" src=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140711-lewis-duff.jpg\" alt=\"Lewis Duff\" width=\"740\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140711-lewis-duff.jpg 620w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/20140711-lewis-duff-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-74090\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lewis Duff with his horse LeeGuard, the winner of the 1927 Wondai Handicap &#8230; the Duff family have connections with the Wondai racecourse that stretch back to its foundation in the 1920s<br \/>(Photo: Cedric Duff Collection)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Special Time For The Duffs<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The highlight of the day will be a chance for the Duff families and their friends to catch up.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ardent racing enthusiasts will be sponsoring the four Duff Memorial races named for the patriarch Lewis, Stephanie (a long-serving South Burnett Race Club Secretary), Neal and Kevin.<\/p>\n<p>The clan is sure to be strongly represented at this annual occasion.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * * <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Bits And Bridles<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hannah Phillips<\/strong> is extra busy at present. She will don silk at Gatton (Thursday) and Rockhampton (Friday), ride for <strong>Kym Afford<\/strong> and <strong>Steven Thomas<\/strong> at Wondai and then zip down to Toowoomba to handle a pair for <strong>Matt Boland<\/strong>. Two more bookings at the Sunshine Coast means there will be no rest for the Nanango apprentice on Sunday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>After also riding at Gatton and Rockhampton, <strong>Hannah English<\/strong> has early engagements at Warra for Missgoodytwoshoes and the <strong>Glenn Richardson<\/strong> trained On A Comet on Saturday. She then heads to Toowoomba where she will be aboard Richardson\u2019s quintet of Eight Over, Fury of the Storm, Demesne, Succinite, and Beauty Secrets as well as General Cos for <strong>Neville Saunders\u2019<\/strong> Toowoomba yard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Kilkivan horseman <strong>Kym Afford<\/strong> will have plenty of saddling up practice at Wondai. He has seven acceptors. <strong>Kaye Hill<\/strong>, another trainer that works her gallopers at the track, has three prospects.
