South Burnett vets are again taking part in RSPCA Queensland\u2019s statewide desexing campaign, dubbed \u201cOperation Wanted\u201d.<\/p>\n

More than 180 vets across Queensland have reduced their desexing fees by at least 20 per cent from June 1 for three months.<\/p>\n

The RSPCA hopes 20,000 extra pets will be desexed because of the promotion,\u00a0which will help prevent unwanted litters ending up at RSPCA centres and council facilities<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a massive pet over-population all over Queensland,\u201d RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNearly 45,000 animals come into our care every year and the vast majority of these have not been desexed.”<\/p>\n

Operation Wanted started as a trial in the South Burnett and a handful of other councils in 2015.<\/p>\n

The following year it was extended statewide.<\/p>\n
