Pupils from Kingaroy State High School were among a group of Year 8-9 students who attended a recent STEM Inspiration Day at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

Also taking part were students from\u00a0Wilsonton SHS, Fairholme College, The Scots PGC College (Warwick), Faith Lutheran College, St Mary\u2019s College Toowoomba and Concordia Lutheran College.<\/p>\n

Topic covered included 3D printing, agricultural science, astronomy, biomedical sciences, engineering and medical laboratory science.<\/p>\n

The students had the opportunity to take part in various hands-on activities.<\/p>\n

A USQ spokesperson said demand was high for graduates skilled in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), with employment growing twice as fast as other occupations.<\/p>\n

The event was designed to encourage the students to continue studying STEM subjects in higher education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
