Kingaroy has a new solicitor’s practice following the official launch on Friday night of Rosegold Legal.<\/p>\n

The business is located upstairs in the old Harbison’s building (above Chris Cross Hair Studio) at 2\/194 Kingaroy Street.<\/p>\n

Solicitor Jay Rose specialises in family, civil and criminal law and has lived in the South Burnett for just over two years, although she was a regular visitor more than 20 years ago when she used to visit family in Tingoora.<\/p>\n

Over the years she has practised law across Queensland, including Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and Mt Isa, and has also worked for Indigenous legal aid services.<\/p>\n

Jay told southburnett.com.au<\/strong>\u00a0her special interests were domestic violence law and child protection.<\/p>\n

The experienced lawyer decided to set up her independent business in Kingaroy because she had noticed there was an absence of female practitioners.<\/p>\n

“My passion and interest lies with women and children,” she said.<\/p>\n

“There are a lot of kids out there that need help.”<\/p>\n

She will be acting as Duty Lawyer in local Magistrates courts as well as appearing in the Federal Circuit Court in family law matters.<\/p>\n

Jay also is applying to be appointed as an independent children’s lawyer to represent children in family law cases.<\/p>\n

At the moment, she is looking after the office by herself, but will have another staff member joining her soon.<\/p>\n

Colleagues from local law firms and legal services joined Jay on Friday night to celebrate the opening of her business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
