The Ford Falcon ute was destroyed by the force of the impact at the corner of Benair and Reedy Creek roads<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A 62-year-old man died in a collision at the corner of Benair and Reedy Creek roads near Inverlaw on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The man, from Alice Creek, was the driver and sole occupant of a Ford Falcon trayback ute which hit the rear of a large truck.<\/p>\n

The ute was travelling south on Benair Road when it clipped the rear of the truck which was travelling east on Reedy Creek Road.<\/p>\n

The man was thrown from the vehicle by the impact.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said preliminary investigations suggested he was not wearing a seatbelt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 31-year-old male truck driver was not injured.<\/p>\n

Forensic crash investigators, who were examining the site of Monday’s night’s horrific collision near Kumbia, were called across to the Inverlaw crash.<\/p>\n

Ambulance paramedics and QFES units also attended the incident.<\/p>\n

Police were speaking to witnesses and investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

The death is the 13th road fatality to occur on South Burnett roads during the past six months.<\/p>\n
