A permanent monument to police officers who have lost their lives – particularly those killed while on duty – has been unveiled in Chinchilla.<\/p>\n

The centrepiece consists of a large piece of petrified wood upon which three plaques have been mounted.<\/p>\n

These plaques play homage to three police officers with Chinchilla connections.<\/p>\n

The monument was constructed with assistance from the Queensland Police Union and forms part of a garden which is looked after by Chinchilla police.<\/p>\n

Police plan to hold a candlelight vigil at the monument later this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
