The mystery third guest for this year’s Dinner With The Captains in Kingaroy was officially announced on Friday … and it’s recently retired rugby league superstar Greg Inglis!<\/p>\n

GI called time on his NRL career in April after eight years with South Sydney and five years with the Melbourne Storm.<\/p>\n

He’s won three premierships during his illustrious 263-NRL game career – two with the Storm and one with the Rabbitohs.<\/p>\n

He’s won the Clive Churchill Medal, been named the Dally M five-eighth of the year and fullback of the year, and in 2009 was awarded the prestigious Golden Boot Award as the best rugby league player in the world.<\/p>\n

Inglis, 32, has played 32 Origins for Queensland, 39 Tests for Australia and five Indigenous All-Stars games.<\/p>\n

He’s suffered knee and shoulder problems in recent years, but when he announced his retirement last month he insisted it wasn’t to do with injuries.<\/p>\n

“I just think it’s time and I think it’s the right decision for myself. I’ve come to terms with it,” he told the media at Redfern.<\/p>\n

“There has been a lot of speculation but as of today it\u2019s official. There are no regrets.”<\/p>\n

Along the way, GI has captained the Rabbitohs, the Maroons, the Indigenous All Stars and the PM’s XIII – which more than qualifies him for a berth on stage at the Dinner With The Captains.<\/p>\n

The Dinner With The Captains is a major fundraiser for the South Burnett Relay For Life.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It will be held on July 27 at Kingaroy Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $95 per person, which includes a three-course dinner. They can be booked by phoning CROW-FM on (07) 4169-0700.<\/p>\n

Tickets MUST be pre-booked; there will be none on sale at the door.<\/p>\n

Dinner organiser Carl Rackemann told southburnett.com.au he was over the moon that GI was coming to the dinner.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inglis will be joining two other “captains” on stage: Jessica Watson OAM, who captained her small boat around the world\u00a0 (the youngest person to sail solo and unassisted); and former international cricketer Greg Ritchie, who captained Queensland in the Sheffield Shield.<\/p>\n
