The official opening of Wanderlust, which displays winning artworks from the 2018 Queensland Regional Art Awards, will be the centrepiece of a new half-day arts festival in Toogoolawah.<\/p>\n

The inaugural Somerset Art Beat Festival will be held at The Condensery at 29 Factory Road in Toogoolawah on Saturday, June 1.<\/p>\n

Apart from showcasing the Wanderlust touring art exhibition, the event will have market stalls featuring handmade creations from artists across multiple disciplines, live music and dance performances, and exotic foods.<\/p>\n

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann said the festival would be a great day out for locals and visitors alike. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“This is a family-friendly festival and I encourage everyone to come along, bring their family and friends and celebrate everything that is great about arts and culture,” Mayor Lehmann said.<\/p>\n

“There will be plenty of acts to provide entertainment and engaging stalls for children and adults to participate in. And best of all, it\u2019s free.”<\/p>\n

The festival will run from noon to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n

Wanderlust will be on display at The Condensery art gallery from Thursday, May 23.<\/p>\n

The Somerset Art Beat Festival is being supported by Somerset Regional Council in partnership with Creative Alliance.<\/p>\n
