Work will resume next week on the $8 million project to rehabilitate the Heritage-listed Dickabram Bridge, part of the former Kingaroy-Theebine rail line.<\/p>\n

A Department of Transport and Main Roads spokesperson said the bridge would be closed from midday on Monday (April 29) to mid-December, weather permitting.<\/p>\n

However, pedestrians will still be able to use the bridge for most of this period.<\/p>\n

The project involves replacing some of the aged timber girders, decking, piles and other structural elements.<\/p>\n

The works will ensure the bridge remains structurally trafficable.<\/p>\n

Due to the bridge\u2019s age and design, coupled with the complexity of the required rehabilitation works, the project cannot be completed without full bridge closures.<\/p>\n

Temporary props will be installed while Pier 11 is rehabilitated.<\/p>\n

The rehabilitation program is anticipated to extend into 2020.<\/p>\n

The Queensland Ambulance Service is aware of the bridge closure and alternate routes.<\/p>\n

However, callers requesting emergency assistance to Triple 0 have also been advised to inform the call taker of the bridge closure when providing the address and location of any incidents.<\/p>\n
