Drizzle on Easter Saturday morning couldn’t stop an eager bunch of youngsters scouring Kingaroy’s Memorial Park for some very elusive eggs.<\/p>\n

The Easter In The Park egg hunt was put on by South Burnett Flight Savers Inc – a group that raises funds for the LifeFlight Foundation – but organiser Cardell Turner said the main aim was to keep the spirit of Easter alive in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

About 80 people – parents and children – turned up for the morning.<\/p>\n

“The kids enjoyed themselves, that was the main thing,” Cardell said.<\/p>\n

The egg hunt was organised at short notice by Flight Savers but will now become a regular event on the group’s annual calendar.<\/p>\n

Flight Savers wanted to publicly thank Taabinga Rotary, who provided the sausage sizzle on the morning, and Annie’s Cafe who brought along the coffee van.<\/p>\n

Cardell also shared some news about the Flight Savers’ annual South Burnett Community Fun Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year’s event – on Saturday, August 17 – will be held at Nanango Showgrounds.<\/p>\n

A fundraising dinner will be held the evening before, also at the showgrounds.<\/p>\n

The Community Fun Day began life with pig races in Kingaroy’s Memorial Park in 2017.<\/p>\n

Last year, the focus shifted to a “Top Gun Challenge”, which was held at Kingaroy Showgrounds.<\/p>\n

The 2019 event in Nanango will combine the highlights of the previous two events … with pig races plus the muscle-testing challenge.<\/p>\n
