The communities of Murgon and Cherbourg will be holding a follow-up public meeting this week to discuss solutions to youth crime in both towns.<\/p>\n

The meeting follows a similar event held on March 26, which explored possible solutions.<\/p>\n

At that meeting, it was suggested South Burnett PCYC trial late-night opening on Saturdays.<\/p>\n

The latest meeting will be held at Murgon Town Hall at 6:30pm on Tuesday, April 16, and will be preceded by a free sausage sizzle at 6:00pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cr Kathy Duff, who helped to organise the March meeting, said an invitation had also been extended to the local magistrate to attend.<\/p>\n

South Burnett CTC and other agencies are also expected to attend.<\/p>\n

The meeting will also be addressed by Acting Sgt Rene Bond from the PCYC, who will be outlining progress on the late night opening plan.<\/p>\n

She will also be calling for extra volunteers to help with the project.<\/p>\n

An eight-week trial of Saturday night openings is due to start on May 11.<\/p>\n
