A group of about 20 Scots, and maybe-Scots, gathered at the Kingaroy Library on Thursday morning to explore the possibility of forming a Scottish cultural group in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The get-together – complete with Scotch Finger biscuits – was organised by\u00a0Wooroolin resident Lynnsay Fryer who is leader of Clan MacKinnon in Australia.<\/p>\n

He was joined at the microphone by David Brand, from Nanango, a member of Clan MacLachlan; and\u00a0piper Ross Page.<\/p>\n

Lynnsay said a Scottish cultural group could explore activities such as music, dancing, cooking and all the Scottish connections to the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Events such as Burns Night and\u00a0Hogmanay could also be celebrated.<\/p>\n

Information about kilts, tartans, sporrans and the various clans was shared with the audience.<\/p>\n
