April 8, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

A driver has been issued with a traffic infringement notice after a collision at the intersection of Industrial Avenue and Kingaroy-Cooyar Road in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Police were called to the incident about 7:40am last Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Police allege a Mazda utility travelling east on Industrial Avenue failed to give way to a Holden travelling south on Kingaroy-Cooyar Road.<\/p>\n

The driver of the ute, a 53-year-old Tingoora man, was transported to hospital with minor injuries and was later issued with the ticket for driving without due care and attention ($522 fine).<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A woman aged in her 60s was transported to hospital on Monday morning after a single-vehicle crash at Glastonbury.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The woman’s vehicle ran off Glastonbury Road shortly before 9:30am and overturned.<\/p>\n

She was transported to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Police were called to a vehicle fire on Corndale Road on Saturday night about 11:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emergency services found the Ford sedan completely engulfed.<\/p>\n

Investigations revealed the driver had drifted off the road and the vehicle had been abandoned.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire appears to be the hot exhaust setting fire to grass under the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Inquiries to locate the owner at the time were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

Police later received a complaint from a 26-year-old Kingaroy woman that the vehicle and had been stolen.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A 19-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 7 charged with road racing after an alleged incident in William Street, Kingaroy, on Sunday afternoon.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police will allege they saw the Holden ute do a burn out at the intersection of Alford Street and William Street about 12:10pm.<\/p>\n

This vehicle was being followed closely by another Holden ute.<\/p>\n

Police say both vehicles appearing to be racing each other.<\/p>\n

The officers\u00a0 followed the vehicles to an Alford Street address.<\/p>\n

Inquiries are continuing to locate the driver of the second vehicle.<\/p>\n
