The future of Terrain Solar’s proposed solar farm on the outskirts of Kingaroy is still undecided.<\/p>\n

An appeal by Terrain Solar against South Burnett Regional Council’s decision to block the development is still before the Planning and Environment Court, with a review listed for May 1.<\/p>\n

This follows an alternative resolution dispute conference between the parties, ordered by Judge Rackemann on March 11 and chaired on Friday by ADR Registrar Steven Adams.<\/p>\n

Terrain Solar director Simon Ingram told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> there was no anticipated date to begin construction as the matter was yet to be determined by the court.<\/p>\n

SBRC General Manager (Corporate Services) Peter O’May confirmed the matter had not been finalised.<\/p>\n

“Council will continue to participate in the mediation process under the direction of the Court in an attempt to resolve the appeal,” he said.<\/p>\n

“The review on May 1 is for the Court to monitor progress on the matter.<\/p>\n

“Until the Court makes a determination in favour of Terrain Solar (ie. allowing the appeal) then no approval for the solar farm or for works to begin exists.”<\/p>\n

Four of the original seven co-respondents who originally elected to join the action alongside Council have since withdrawn.<\/p>\n
