The networking social event at Dimitie’s Cottage last Friday night<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

South Burnett Arts Inc hosted its first meet’n’greet on Friday in Wondai as a social night for the local creative community.<\/p>\n

Writers, singers, artists, musicians, weavers and photographers attended an informal dinner at Dimitie’s Cottage.<\/p>\n

Local councillor Ros Heit was also present to gather feedback;\u00a0Arts portfolio holder Danita Potter was an apology.<\/p>\n

The venue was selected as it is where the not-for-profit group was founded in 2009 with the aim of promoting the development of the arts in the region.<\/p>\n

Since then South Burnett Arts has run several events itself, and supported the efforts of other South Burnett arts organisations and individual artists with their own projects.<\/p>\n

The meet’n’greet was organised to encourage discussions and networking, and suggest topics for consideration at the South Burnett Regional Council’s next quarterly “Creative Roundtable”.<\/p>\n
