The Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club held its first Club Day of the season last Saturday, attracting more than a dozen young riders.<\/p>\n

The day was held in memory of long-time club supporter and fan Barry Stead who died last year.<\/p>\n

Under 16 NSW 250cc champion Flynn Nicol won both the 125cc and 250cc club events and took home the inaugural Barry Stead Memorial Trophy.<\/p>\n

A special guest on the day was BRTS Racing team manager Ivor Harm who brought along some of his senior riders, including well-known local Cordell Rogerson, to help out.<\/p>\n

BRTS team member Kane Lawrence, who came third in the 500cc West Australian titles last month, flew up from Newcastle to be one of the volunteers.<\/p>\n

Kane and several other of the BRTS team were scheduled to compete at North Brisbane the following day.<\/p>\n
