Rebecca Rynne, from Windera<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>March 27, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Council of Women of Queensland has announced the details of its annual bursaries which are now open for applications.<\/p>\n<p>There are 33 bursaries being offered in a number of categories, ranging from support for women studying science to professional development.<\/p>\n<p>They are available for students in high school, TAFE, and undergraduate and postgraduate studies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Two are of special interest to South Burnett residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The first is a $1000 bursary offered by South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell to female residents of the South Burnett Regional Council area.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is for a female resident of the South Burnett Regional Council area who has made a demonstrated contribution to the local community.<\/p>\n<p>They must be enrolled in a full-time, part-time or distance education course \u2013 either at university or TAFE &#8211; to further develop their skills as a primary producer, or for the benefit of those residents of the local region.<\/p>\n<p>They must also be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/ncwq.org.au\/2012\/wp-content\/uploads\/Southburnettmayor-2019bursaryapplication.docx\"><strong>Download Application Form<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The second $1000 bursary is offered by Member for Maranoa David Littleproud to female residents of the Maranoa electorate.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This includes residents in Kingaroy, Kumbia, Memerambi, Nanango, Maidenwell, Yarraman, Blackbutt and Cooyar.<\/p>\n<p>It is for a female first year, full-time student in a tertiary course &#8211; such as at university, TAFE, or the Conservatorium of Music &#8211; who has demonstrated involvement in their home community and in their present study.<\/p>\n<p>They must be a constituent of Maranoa electorate, although they may have relocated for their studies.<\/p>\n<p>They must also be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mr Littleproud said he was thrilled to be involved with the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know how important it is to ensure our next generation of young women thrive and are able to access financial support while studying,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said many students were forced to move from their local community in order to pursue further study after finishing school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s my aim to see these students return home, to their bush community, so they can apply their trade to grow our region and that\u2019s why I\u2019m doing all I can to support our youth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeaving home for the first time can be daunting and I know many rural young people \u2013 and their families \u2013 also face financial hardship
