Yarraman residents have been invited to “have their say” in the Toowoomba Regional Council’s biggest safety survey.<\/p>\n

The survey, released on Monday by the Safer Toowoomba Regional Partnerships group, is asking locals what they think are the biggest issues relating to health and safety.<\/p>\n

STRP chairman Cr Geoff McDonald said by participating, community members would help shape the region\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom Yarraman to Clifton, Cecil Plains to Withcott, we want to give everyone in every corner of our region the opportunity to take part,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Results from the survey will help prioritise and plan for future community health and safety activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy investing around 10 minutes of your time and completing this survey, you\u2019ll be making an investment in the security of future generations,\u201d Cr McDonald said.<\/p>\n

Queensland Police Service Superintendent Mark Kelly said the survey would ultimately make the region a safer and healthier place to live.<\/p>\n

\u201cA survey on this scale will provide an opportunity for a more fact-based debate and evidence-based decision making into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Information will be collected from residents aged 18 years and over living in the Toowoomba Region Council area about their perceptions of health and safety in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Toowoomba Hospital Executive Director Shirley-Anne Gardiner said there was nothing as important as the health, safety and wellbeing of our community members.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of the key drivers of health reside in our everyday living and working conditions,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is why we are seeking input by the community to help us better understand and improve these conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The survey closes May 20.<\/p>\n
