Gympie Colts turned the tables when they took on Murgon in the A Grade Grand Final<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Gympie Colts chased down the target set by Murgon Crusaders to take out the Gympie A Grade cricket grand final at the weekend.<\/p>\n

The match was played at Kozminsky Oval in Gympie.<\/p>\n

The visitors went into the game with confidence after finishing on top of the ladder and downing Colts in the semi-final played a fortnight earlier in Murgon.<\/p>\n

Colts, on the other hand, had to earn their spot in the Grand Final in a sudden-death encounter last week against Gympie Harlequins.<\/p>\n

Colts won the toss on Saturday and sent Murgon into bat.<\/p>\n

Many of the Murgon wickets fell cheaply, with spinner Andrew Mallett taking the vital wicket of Ashley Sippel for just 19 runs.<\/p>\n

Sippel scored a century in their previous clash.<\/p>\n

Jamian Currin top-scored for Murgon, finishing 39 not out, his highest score for the season.<\/p>\n

At the end of their 40 overs, Murgon were 9\/123.<\/p>\n

The Colts’ bowlers were tight, bowling a total of 10 maiden overs.<\/p>\n

Their best was Sam Lang who took 3\/19 off his eight overs, including three maidens.<\/p>\n

In reply, Colts overtook Murgon in the 33rd over, finishing 7\/127.<\/p>\n

Lang was also strong with the bat, top-scoring with a quick-fire 28 off just 15 balls.<\/p>\n

Allen Ledger was the best of the Murgon bowlers, taking 2\/12 off seven overs, including four maidens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
