Colourful stilt-walkers and street performers will be dazzling the crowds at this year’s Wine and Food In The Park, which will also be offering several new surprises for festivalgoers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Guests at this year’s Wine and Food In The Park festival will get a bonus with their wristband on Saturday … a free ticket in a special festival prize draw.<\/p>\n

The ticket will put them in the running to win a range of items throughout the day, courtesy of the festival’s sponsors and stallholders.<\/p>\n

Winning ticket numbers will be announced from the main stage between acts, and there’ll be some great prizes on offer.<\/p>\n

They include a $100 in-store voucher from Kingaroy’s best-known fashion retailer Coppards; a $50 voucher from leading winery Moffatdale Ridge; and a $135 voucher for mid-week accommodation for two people at Mulanah Gardens at Benair.<\/p>\n

Festivalgoers can also win two sample bags from The Peanut Van, each containing a kilogram of peanuts in 10 different flavours (worth $35); a $50 in-store voucher from Bass To Barra Marine; and a cheese and wine table worth $85 from Nature’s Rewards, who’ll be exhibiting these contemporary picnic accessories in the grounds.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be a number meal prizes from the Gourmet Food Village up for grabs.<\/p>\n

“We’re always trying to pack value into our entry fee,” festival treasurer Shaun Bliesner said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“A few years ago we started offering free chilled water and ice slushies at our site tent, and this has been really popular with everyone – especially if it’s a hot day.<\/p>\n

“When we offered branded merchandise a few years ago, we gave everyone $5 worth of tickets they could redeem for T-shirts, hats, flashing wine glasses or wine coolers and that was really popular, too.<\/p>\n

“So this year, we thought a free raffle would be another nice way to thank everyone – and of course, we’ll still have free water and ice-cold slushies as well.”<\/p>\n

The festival will also have something special for children.<\/p>\n

Karla’s Karnival will be in the grounds between 2:00pm and 6:00pm to provide free face-painting, and there’ll be some amusement rides outside the fenced area.<\/p>\n

“Last year was too windy to put up a jumping castle or anything else, but this year should be just about perfect,” Shaun said.<\/p>\n

Festivalgoers with an eye for art can also buy $1 tickets in a special fundraising raffle being run in the grounds by South Burnett Arts Inc.<\/p>\n

The group is offering a work by award-winning artist June McCotter valued at more than $500. The proceeds will be used to help raise funds for the Kingaroy Eisteddfod.<\/p>\n
