Opposition Leader and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has congratulated the Kingaroy Junior Cricket Club on receiving $34,500 for new cricket nets.<\/p>\n

The club successfully applied to Round 98 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell done to the Kingaroy Junior Cricket Club Committee for receiving this grant and for their commitment to improving the facilities for our junior cricketers,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new training nets will be full size and will be replace the old nets on site at Taabinga State School.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ll make a big difference for the players and coaches and will help the club encourage more players in the future.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s expected the new nets will be in place and ready for the 2019-20 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cCricket is a popular sport in the South Burnett, and we really do punch above our weight when it comes to cricketing representatives at State and National levels.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new infrastructure is great for Kingaroy and I look forward to hearing about even more of our young cricketers excelling in the sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

Round 101 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund will open in mid-April and closes on May 31.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said she was keen to encourage local community groups to consider applying for a Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant to help achieve their goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are great grants of up to $35,000 which can really give groups the ability to consider the purchase of new infrastructure, or undertake facility improvements. It is certainly worthwhile putting in an application and giving it a go,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
