Murgon residents gathered on Saturday night for the announcement of the 2019 Miss Showgirl … and to dance the night away.<\/p>\n

Murgon Show Society’s Country Cabaret attracted more than 100 people to Murgon Town Hall for the big night.<\/p>\n

They enjoyed a meal and live music, provided by Tony Wagner, plus the opportunity to twirl and swirl on the dancefloor.<\/p>\n

There were fun competitions and several raffles were run. The most unusual prize was “Dash”, a corrugated iron farm dog crafted by Crinkle Creek Garden & Home Art at Wondai.<\/p>\n

The corrugated iron sheets that Carina Fisher used to make Dash came from the old DA<\/strong>iry SH<\/strong>ed at Murgon Showground which was demolished recently.<\/p>\n

Judges Amy Wicks, Bob Riek and Holly Keliher spent the afternoon interviewing the candidates for Miss Showgirl, Rural Ambassador and Miss Junior Showgirl at Murgon’s Royal Hotel.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the night was when the three winners were announced and sashed: 2019 Miss Showgirl is Teagan Hall, from Murgon; Miss Junior Showgirl is Ivia-May Riddell, Murgon; and Rural Ambassador is Locksley Bishop, Cloyna.<\/p>\n

The Murgon Show will be held on March 15-16.<\/p>\n
