Steak, lobsters, prawns, oysters and cold beer … what more could anyone want after a hot summer’s day in the South Burnett?<\/p>\n

This is the winning formula that has made the annual Reef’n’Beef Extravaganza at the Ironpot Farmers Hall such a winning formula for Team Ironpot.<\/p>\n

The event was started in 2009 as a fundraiser for local community organisations and has always been well-supported.<\/p>\n

It’s popular with locals from the Kumbia, Bell, Benair, Burrandowan and Ironpot areas … but its fame has gradually spread and some diners now travel great distances to attend.<\/p>\n

The hall becomes a little oasis of light surrounded by large\u00a0marquees to cater for the guests.<\/p>\n

This year’s event attracted 220 people, the limit set to make life a bit easier for organisers.<\/p>\n

They dined on fresh seafood and sizzling steaks and enjoyed the cool breezes wafting across the farmland.<\/p>\n

Live music was supplied by “Random Keys” – the duo used to be Kingaroy residents but are now based in the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.<\/p>\n
