Four South Burnett students have been appointed to leadership positions at\u00a0the University of Southern Queensland’s residential colleges for 2019.<\/p>\n

Former Nanango State High School student Jared Mathews is a senior Resident Adviser, ie. the member of the Collegiate Team who is the first point of contact for helping other students who have difficulties, whether they be academic or personal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have found that my leadership experiences have helped with my teamwork and problem-solving skills as well as learning to think on my feet in high pressure situations,\u201d Jared said.<\/p>\n

His brother Brock is looking forward to the opportunity to learn new skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe opportunity to have a greater impact on residential life is what made me apply for a leadership position,\u201d Brock said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope to learn skills that will make me more employable in the future.<\/p>\n

“Being able to communicate and work as a team are important skills to have.”<\/p>\n

The other two South Burnett students are\u00a0Ashleigh Reinbott and Taylah Currell.<\/p>\n

They are following in the footsteps of recent graduate, former Kingaroy State High student Kyra O\u2019Sullivan, who was a member of the college leadership team for three years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
